The National Council to Prevent Discrimination, CONAPRED will complain about the comments that 2 Pumas soccer players made against a Santos soccer player during last Sunday's game, Pumas versus Santos in Ciudad Universitaria Stadium.
Felipe Baloy, a Santos soccer player, recieved racist and xenophobic remarks from Marco Palacios and Darío Verón, They called Felipe "esclavo de mierda", "mono" and "negro".
Even though Felipe Baloy told the referee about these insults, the referee ignored the player's complaint and punished him. The referee will be questioned about this event.
How can we, Mexicans be expected to be respected in Arison,USA if we discriminate in games, families, classrooms in our country?
Not only do I really expect CONAPRED to fine these silly and xenophobic players, but UNAM authories must also take action.
You might say this is just a game, George. However, do you know how much violence there is in relationships between couples, families, friends, parents, classmates, etc ...?
In the end, I am pretty sure that there are a lot of people like these racist players outside; just observe around you how intolerant we are becoming. Also, I wonder if these Pumas players know what the term"university" means.
