Happy birthday to Mexico. We are celebrating the beginning of Mexico`s Independece which began 195 years ago.
I wish Mexicans celebrated Mexican parties everyday as we did it yesterday at the Zócalo.
I wish Mexicans could work better and more everyday in order to have a better future.
I wish Mexicans were much cleaner. There were 700 tons of garbage at the Zócalo yesterday.
I wish our Mexican politicians really worked on behalf of Mexicans.
I wish every single Mexican voter out of 68 000 000 participated in the presidential elections of 2006.
I wish Mexicans did their duties well so that we could have a better country.
I wish our Mexican political parties stopped cheating.
I wish Mexicans were on time at work, school, movie theaters and everywhere
I wish our Congress, political parties and president had a common project for taking Mexico to the first world.
First, I need to say, I feel very proud to be Mexican. Because Mexico it’s the most beautiful country in the world.
Mexico has a rich culture, friendly people, delicious food and the most important thing the family. Because all the families in México we’re united.
But, in the Mexican Independence Day or Christmas are things that I don’t like as fireworks or drinking during this festivities, because happen many accidents or contaminate the atmosphere.
I think that the Mexicans didn´t do good, but is importat conserve this king of costums and we should do more for our country.
This king of situation happens a lot because we don´t have a good habits and we shuold start wiht ourselves to have a clean country, i´m sure that the country are going to be better.
I BELIEVE THAT MEXICO IS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY BECAUSE HAS BEAUTIFUL PLACES, A BIG CULTURE, EXCELENT FOOD, FRIENDLY PEOPLE.
I THINK THAT IS BAD THAT PEOPLE ONLY CELEBRATE THIS DAY AND THEY ONLY REMEMBER THAT SEPTEMBER 15 AND 16 IS FOR PARTIES AND DRINKING, BECAUSE MEXICO HAS A BIG HISTORY.
I WISH THAT YOUNG PEOPLE WILL BE MORE INTERESTING IN THE HISTORY OF MEXICO IF THEY KNOW THE HISTORY THEY TAKE CARE MORE OURS COUNTRY.
I LIKE THIS DAY BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND WAS PARADE THIS YEAR.

WELL, I THINK THAT MEXICO HAVE RICHNESS IN ALL THE ASPECTS: MEXICO HAVE A GORGEOUS BEACHS, BEUTIFUL LANDSCAPE, ETC, BUT IN PARTICULAR HAVE DEEP-SEATED TRADITIONS.
ALSO, I THINK THAT IS NECESSARY FEELING PROUD OF ARE MEXICANS ALL THE YEAR.

Well, we know that there are a lot of problems in our country, we'll want that our situacion be different, but the true is... Mexico has its problems but it has a lot of things that makes me feel happy, makes me feel mexican.
It's difficult accept all situations like poverty, corruption, delinquency, unemployment, etc
But there are another things that makes it be diferent, our people, our culture, our beutiful places.
Something important is that we are mexicans everyday, all the time, all year and we shouldn't need a special date to feel us mexicans.
And if the country has problems, we need to do our activities in the best way because, if only complain about it, we don't resolve the problems, we don't help to resolve the problems, we need to do something for us, something for Mexico¡¡¡

To be a good mexican, you must do something to improve México, not only celetrating in September 16.
I don´t belive in these celebration, because I think that behind it there was a personal interest, and the most needy persons were used by interested persons who looked for power.
Well, in spite of everything I am mexinan, and I am very happy to be it. And I wish I were somebody productive for México.
I didn't pass the 16 of September at home, but, the place that I visited, describes so well how to feel a real mexican.
At Zocalo everything are bigger and louder, but in Pachuquilla Hidalgo, in México too; the people, are more friendly and fell a special sence of respect and honor abuot, the symbols that represent us like mexicans.
In the middle of the night I was in a kind of place were you can rida a bull, horse, even a dunky, drinking beers whit my mother, my brother and a a frind, we didn´t kwon anybodie, but we made some friends.
Everything is different, there are more culture about, respect, and frindship, I guess some people are hardworking, because the necesity, and that´s make the difference.
We need to reflex about our duties, and our country, we have a low profile, about a lot of things, and we don´t fight for the things that represent a really grow up.

I wish that all mexicans are going to be more respectful about theirs own ideas about Mexico, many people believes in many clichés that they don´t thinking clearly, they said: "Mexico is the most beautiful place", I ask, for who?, for the milions of people that survive only with a few dollars for month, othres said "Mexico has the best food, or has the best hymn (after France), this and another ideas showed the poor Knowledge about the real Mexico.

I read the Alfredo's opinion. I respect it but I don't think the same, I think that México has a very beautiful places and has a delicious food.
Well Mexico has economic problems but it doesn't cause that it doesn´t have its delicious food and its natural beauties to México.
I went to Zocalo in september 15 and I saw many poor people. Poor People keep money and in this special dates to México they go to Zocalo to celebrate it and spend their money there.
I think that we have to do many things to México, not only politicians, all México have to change to a better way to do the things.

I think that 15 September Mexico´s Independence is a date pretty representative for culture of Mexicans, this event that happen each year is reason of different celebration into and out country.
I believe that Mexicans have forgotten the reason for made fight of independence, the age people wish improve the situation them life, however actually have wishes are basing in the reality then I’m afraid that first have change a lot political situation for founding purposes our hero for doing free.

Mexican we as know that single independence went a movement to remove to the Spaniards from the country, and that because there was much injustice towards the Creoles or Spaniards born in the New Spain, but of anything happen because at the moment we are living in the country on injustice, where the power all wants it to have and there is union and work team between the goverment of our nation, for that reason Mexican we as we do not have will and the order does not exist. Always that to celebrate the Independence of Mexico is when all feel mexican. In this date the typical celebration is to have a lon weekend and go to the beach or other place. I believe that should take seriously the celebration of our independence and don´t take like excuse for go out of vacation.

I believe that The Mexicans love us the National Celebrations although sometimes we are ignorant of which we celebrated, but we can spend a lot of money because the important thing is to celebrate. Instead of which they work by a better Mexico, for example the politicians that represent us, but those don’t do anything by our country or almost Mexican don’t do anything by to get a quality of life. Most of the mexican´s people remember this date only because there are a lot of parties, beers, entertainig, etc.

In my opinion is important to celebrate this parties, but we would be more contious about our history , we need to give the best in all the things that we do, because is the futur of mexico, our futur and children`s futur.

I´m complete agree with you about we shoud celebrating mexican parties day bay day, but not only with parties. We should give every day the best of us in order to being a better person and in order that we being a better person our country will start to be better and better. We must not to do the things not only for do it, we shoudl do it because we love do it. If something that we do don´t like us we shouln´t do it.

this article is very important because is sad to see that mexican people celebrated the independence day when we aren´t a country that have a independence yet.
I think that the progress in Mexico is very distant but not imposible because, is truth that Mexico depend of another country as united states. I think that is necessary work together to be a independence country.

I think that if we wanted to change our country, we should start by changing ourselves so that everybody make this country different.
On the other hand, and let's be sincere, mexican politicians will never be worried about Mexico. The only thing they care about is fulling their hands of money and don't care if mexican people live well or not.

I think we are a very very beautiful country but the same as you Jorge, I wish all what you wrote in your comment. Yes, we are a great country but not in all the aspects. We only think in each other when we are celebrating as in the Independece Day, but actually ´many of us forget the real sence of beeing mexicans. If we only look around we can find many many difficulties for being an excellent country. Tje best example is the Independence celabration with losts of litter downtoun. Also the insecurity we live with almost everyday. In those kind of situations is when we forget the real sence of being mexicans. I wish all bad habbits were off, all robs, kidnapings,etc should be off, all of them, in order to build a new country in wich we can breath clean air, we can go outside without being scare, thinking in us like what we are: A great country, Mexico.

I feel very sad because the mexican remmember that they are mexican only in september especially in september 15 and 16. You can see in all streets patriotics things than rember that.
We feel mexican all year and don`t forgot that we have a beatiful country, we are rinch in nature, and people.

Well, what you said is true, Mexico is a beautiful country, but we just remember that once a year.
Thinking about the subject, I don't think that we remember, perphaps we just like the celebration that we make that the day and the fact that we don't work.
I am saying that because most of the people don't know anything about the origin of the celebration, or the real meaning of the independence day.
I think that we have to be worried about it, and realise that we are not independet, I mean our country is not indepent anymore, all the things that we use come from diferent countries
because we don't have the technology to produce it.
And the worst thing about these topic is that we are losing our identity as a country, and with the time we're going to lose our racional indepence.
So, lets stop with these celebration, because we're celebrating a "false indepence".

It's a good article. Mexicans need to be more mature in some things that make this country not a very good one. Starting to talk about young people like teenagers, children, young adults that need to be conscious of what they are aiming in life. I've seen many of them doing nothing in the streets, wandering and painting the walls with horrible things. We as the youth of the future need to have a vision about what we are gonna do for tomorrow!. And moreover adults and grandpas are contributing to make this world a better or a worst one. Goverment, professional people, teenagers, children , housewives, I mean everybody depend on this world that is sadly failling to the hell with starvation, devastation, natural desasters and throwing garbage in the streets. But it also depends on us to make it a better, safety and developed one in order to benefit ourselves.

I think that we live in a country that has a lot of god things to exploit, and people could live much better if they don't expect everything fell from the sky, I can't understand why people who have the opportunity to help or do something good for others, they prefer to be selfish and don't share, for example, our politicians prefer to steal money although they can see people that live in extreme poverty.
Unfortunatly, for many Mexican people is difficult to change bad costumes and they look for the chance to have fun.
Mexico's Independence is one of the best celebration, because you can find all kind of mexican food in different places, you can entertain with your family or your friends and it's a good day that you enjoy a lot.
But we have to celebrate in a good way, because in some cases people drink more and more and they cause damages in places or in other people; we can say: "Viva Mexico" in a healthy form.
I totally agree whit you, the best way to celebrate the beginning of Mexico`s Independece is working in ourself future.
If all of mexican people working more than celebrate, we can change the society. If all of us worry about other, the politician work better and all enjoy our country.

Unfortunately, When it is a holiday like this we just care the moment, the day, because we like parties, but we don't mind anything else, we celebrate that day, then we forget what we were celebrating, this is so common in the dates like this, for example the mom's day, in this day we are lovely, respectuful we tell our mom that we love her, the next day we forgot and we continue being in the way we were.
It's important to alway remember the things that make us a good person.
I think that we need to know about our history, because a lot of people think that is other celebration for drunk or eat, but they really know what was the reason for celebrating it ??
We need to read, to improve our knowledge about our culture and we could be better person.

Our country is beautiful, we have an interesting history, our culture is nice, people are friendly, our food is delicious...... it's great to have a country like Mexico.
The problem are the politicians and people who are not interested in our country.
They have another personal interests.
But if we wanted to change the bad things and situations of our country, we should start by changing ourselves.
We have a lot of wishes, but we have to work in them in order to get what we want.
I guess that it's very important that politicians take in considerations the mexican necessities because they want to ear money and they don't put attention in the serious problems in our country.

I know a boy who is in The United States, he's an immigrant. In México, he couldn't get a job, a good job, and he decided to go to USA.
Now, I had talked with him and he is very sad because he misses his country and his family. He says that American people are a bit of unfriendly. In contrast of Mexican people, we are warmer and friendly.
Like you, I'm very proud of being Mexican. But, unfortunately, we are excesively ambicious, that's the reason we are corrupts. This is the problem of Mexico, the corruption; if we can change that, we'll win.
