So, for me is not so important February 14th, is a day which you interchange gifts with your friends and boyfriend, so you can do this everyday not just February 14th.

Then I call my friends everytime that I can or I go to their house if it is near , of course (laugh) so I think that friends are like brothers or sisters, are part of your family.

I call my relatives everyday, because my family are very close, so, for example my aunt are pregnant and we take care about her.

I don't call my friends when I am in trouble, I really like being with my friends and know about them, so I think that my friends and my family are so important to me.

February 14th, in my opinion it´s a marketing day, and I´m no t a kind of Grinch or something similar, I believe in love and friendship, in fact on this day I always receive presents like balloons, postcards, sweets and soft-toys, but I think you can give and receive all this things any day, and it´s not necessary to buy them, I mean, I really appreciate gifts made by yourself, like handcrafts.
For many people this day is very important, and I respect that, and I hope one day, they realize that can have 365 Valentine´s Day.
I call my friends up, twice or three times per week, or sometimes I send them messages by mail or mobile phone.
With my relatives, in fact I try to see them once a week, but unfortunately many times it´s not possible because most of us (including me) are very busy.
For me, my family and my friends (the real ones) are the most important in my life, and they know it.

I think that many days are dedicated for something special, because we forget them. We have a hurried and routine life, and we do not stop to think to improve our human relationships. I think that this is the principal reason that there are many days like Valentine’s day, family’s day, mother’s day, father’s day, etc. These days give us an opportunity to share a special day with someone special, and if we are not accustomed to show our feelings toward each other, this is an opportunity that we should not miss.

In my case, in the present I am trying to improve my relationships, although some times, I do not have enough time, but how do we use our time efficiently? For me, February 14th, is a special day to express your feelings, but I think that is not necessary to have a special day to do that.

I believe that you can express your feelings every day, but as one of my partners said: “February 14th, in my opinion it´s a marketing day”, and I agree with on. I think that this day is like “mother’s day” or “family’s day”. All of these days were created with one objective: “increases consume”, and unfortunately we continue to celebrate it.

I have to accept that on February 14th I give to my friends some presents that I made, and it makes me feel good, but by other way I usually express my feelings with my friends and I try to be helpful with them.

I don’t need a specific day to say: “Hi! My friend, I love you a lot!”. I just say it when I feel it.

In the past for me, it is not some important this February 14th. because i think is only for selling things and most of the bussinessman said that is the best day to share our feelings and say I love you.

I really don't have enough time to call my friends, but i often write a greeting on the hi5 or by email and i didn't call them when i am in trouble.

Well, as a lot of people I think that February 14th is a comercial celebration, but is very nice when someone arrives and say you "Happy Valentine's Day".

I know that friends don't need special dates to celebrate them friendship, but in my case the past February 14th I went with some friends to a bar to talk, remember good days, remember persons, etc.. and not necessary whe paid a lot of money buying expensive gifts, flowers, etc. The really goal of this is talk with friends and past a good moment.

This king of friendship is always, and for me the February 14th is only a other pretext to spend time with friends.

Friendship is a beautiful gift and not very common. When a friend gives you his or her heart it's forever, the problem is to find someone who really share your expectations about friendship.

For me February 14th is a very special day. I usually see my old friends; we used to have dinner and talk about some experiences at the past. I enjoy this time because it is the opportunity to joins us, sometimes because of work and personal compromises we couldn’t see us as we wish. I try to talk to my friends once a week or send them a mail at least; most of the time I try to notice them how important they are for me. Well I agree with most of my partners, and I think that is not much important February 14th, because most of the time we only spend our time like buying things, andwe are very worried in this, than share a really nice day.Other thing that I don`t like this day is because is not necesary to celabrate in Sn. valentine`s day we can share, enjoy, go out, whichever other day.However, it could be a good excuse a little bit with our friends.

Valentine’s Day it’s only a special date which we use to point out friendship or love mean.
Unfortunately for many people only means consuming and at the end, the people that are engaged in selling love and friendship as candies, balloons, flowers, etc., win.
On the other hand, for me friendship and love are demonstrated everyday, and not only when we give presents.
February 14th isn’t upsets me because I know it is only a special date, but the feelings toward your friends, couple, parents or relatives are things that can be demonstrated everyday.

Basically, I don’t have time to call my friends up, but when I do it, I do it because I hope they telling me how are they or what do they feel, what in their lives has happened.

To my relatives, I try to visit them frequently, or at least, call them because I love them and I worry about them, because they’re funny and I like sharing time whit them.

Well for me February 14th represents a commercial and marketing day and a creation of humans to be a consumistic and materialistic person to spend more money but it should be to spend more time with our family, friends and people we love.

For me every day in my life is very important and I´m trying to spend more time with my dear beautiful family and friends.

I think is better to call them up, to visit and spend more time with them and not only in specially days like birthdays or when we need them.

I think a friendship is a very important thing in this world because we need someone with who we can share several things, for example to talk about something, to go out, etc. In fact the human needs to be in a group because of its nature. I thing we are happier if we have a good relationship whit people, at wok, al school, etc.

I usually try to call my better friends and if they have a problem or need something I try to help them giving them some advices.

I agree it's an important thing, and so important that there is a date to celebrate it, but I don't agree with the superficial ideology of giving presents or receiving them because, we can do if we like but it's just marketing and we can express our feelings from different ways instead of buying presents for everyone and nowadays several people thinks that February 14th is an important day just because they like receiving a lot of presents and they forget the importance of sharing a lot of more important things.

In my own vocabulary, friendship means: " a fraternity's pact" including give my life for my friends if they need it and in order to do this act, is because you know that special persons very well in all senses. Perhaps it sounds a bit weird, but I've been living with this idea in my mind and heart and I have got some important friends and I know that I can trust and count with them all time and I've received amazings advices, surprises, ideas, even jobs, love and the most important thing is when you can support them and that you are pretty sure, you will receive the same help.

However, I´m not the kind of person who celebrate St. Valentine´s day, I think it is just another advertisement day which I really hate it. On the other hand, I always call my friends on their bithday´s day - this is like a rule in my life-. In some cases, if I can´t see them frecuently, I try to call them once a month at least in order to know how are.

Another wonderful point, is that my friends have the trust to tell me what they really think about myself and they usually tell me my mistakes and how I can change these.

I want to comment something about your article, when you love to someone you show what you feel, it doesn't matter how because the important things are details but I think that the most valuable in a relationship is confidence.

You can celebrate February 14th sharing your time with your friends or with your couple however, it’s not only a date in which you can demonstrate your feelings, you can do it whenever you wish. In fact Mexican people are accustomed to celebrate Valentine’s Day because there are a lot of things to give and each year is common to buy something for a special person. I mean it’s a commercial day.

When you have a friend is important that you often call him up, but for me it’s not, I think that when my friends need help I will be with them in order to help so by far the most I appreciate help more than some calls. This is the same situation with my relatives I pass a great time with them although I’d like that when I need their help they’d be there. I’m not a self-seeking person just I try to say that in good and bad occasions you must be a real friend.

In my opinion it’s a nice pretext to commemorate love and friendship, it’s not necessary to give expensive gifts or having dinner at pricey restaurants to show your love for somebody. I think, when there’s really affection or love between two or more people, it’s enough to give them a phone call or to have a cup of coffee with them. Enjoying some time together and listening at each other are wonderful moments that unfortunately we don’t have every day, so my point is, it’s not about how much money you expend, the truly important is to pay attention to this beloved people, obviously during the rest of the year, we should cultivate our relationship, and we don’t have to reduce love and friendship only for one day, but I think, that if there is one date for everything, such as birthdays, anniversaries, new year, etc. it’s also legitimate to have one day for love.

In my opinion, nowadays Valentine´s day is used by big companies wich have been became this day in a very lucrative business selling several products and a lot of people think that but in the end everybody buy that things and is in that day when cinemas, restaurants and entretainment places are very crowded.
For me that day is very special not only for the presents or flowers, I think this day can be used like a pretext to see or call to all that people who are important to you but most of the time we are very bussy for being in contact to. I mean I always show my love to my family because they are the most important people to me but sometimes the work and all the routines make me forget that not only the job, the schooll and the housework are imortant, sometimes we barely realize that fellings, hugs and kisses are important too, besides is really nice to receive a nice gift and hear nice words from the people who are close to you.

For myself February 14th is a marketing day, I think that we don´t need a day to celebraye the friends and the love. We can celebrate this all days.

I try to call my friends up, maybe four days per month, sometimes is difficult to see them by the activities that each one has.

Your first question… for me the February 14th is very important because you can remind to persons that you like the importance if they have in your life and in your heart , because sometimes we don’t have time or don´t remember when was the last time that we say I love you at our family and friends.
Your second question… I talk with my friends all the time with message on the cell phone, with the messenger, with the phone or when I have time and they too we trying to see us.
The next question… With my relatives I talk more that with my friends because I live with them and for example in te dinner or in the breakfast we talk much and not only to a one topic, we talk to a many kinds of topics and that do the dinner more interesting.
The last question… I try to help at my friends and when I have a problem I try to don´t involucrate them, just when my problem is very big and I need a suggestion. I always try to help them and I try to do anything to my friend fell good with me and feel my support.

The friendship is something very important for live. One thing that is very important is that we have to frequent to our friends forever, for mail, personally or for anyway not only on February 14 th, that day is only to remember us the importance of love or friendship.

I think it's a beautiful day because it doesn't matter if you can do all of those things in other days, I mean make phone calls, go out with friends or to gift chocolates, this is an special day because as in all special day prices rise to the heaven, that's why people start to be mean and just say that they can do this things all time, actually they don't want to gift anything more, because it's expensive. If we be very good friends we help with some money when the other people need it but in the real life everyone loves being well with others and prefer to buy something, we don't know if our friend is going to like it but it was cheaper and you think that you are a good friend just for give him an useless thing.
I prefer to lend them some money, let them make a phone call when they don't have credit, listen to them or pay some beer, just when they can't even pay the subway.

Well, the february 14th for me is an innecesary day to celebrate the friendship, because you don’t need a special day to do it.
I think you can share everyday great moments with your friends and show to your love the big love that you feel for her or him.
I don´t need to feel sad or bad to call my friends, because I know they stay with me all the time. I mean, when I’m lonely or sad they don´t doubt to help me at any moment for make me smile.

Well, really 14th February isn’t very important for me, this a day common but the Marketing has been the principal promoter of that! We kwon in this day, restaurants, shops, cinemas and more are full! Because everybody think “.. is a important day to show that I love you!” Therefore, we allowed that the deceit of the marketing research drags to us.

I call my friends and relatives up often although sometimes I can not go it because I have work a lot. But we are in communication for e-mail. I not call they up only when I’m in trouble because it isn’t good and if I do that it show only interest and no friendship nor love.

If you asked me that last year, maybe my answer would be different because in a February 14th I earned the respect of all my classmates when I declare my love for the girl who I was in love, in another one I earned admiration after to recite a poetry but the most important was a tradition which I had with my friends. Every February 14th we went to play bowling, unfortunately my friends are working by offices that are famous for their demanding schedules and the worst part is that the girl who I love is studying far far away, I think this Saint Valentine’s day won’t be good for me.

Well, I don't like to follow the conventionalisms of the society, so february 14th is like any other day. For me the meaning of friendship is to be with my friends every day and it's like if each day were the frienship's day. Is the same with mother's day and all those phony days. I have friends all the days not only in a specific day.

I know is nice to recieve gifts or little notes from your mates that day, but in my case the best gift I can give to my friends is my friendship and to be for them anytime no matter what, and from time to time I like giving them notes in which I recall them how important they are to me.

I love February 14th, I think is another day to show the ones you love how much you care about them, but the thing I don't like are all the stereotypes around it. I think that not just on that specific day you have to do it, I believe it's something you must do everyday, because our friends, family or even boyfriends are always there when we need them. Well I think that there shouldn't be just one day to prove our friends, family or boyfriend how much do we care about them. Ok I totally agree that is nice to receive things or calls of your friends on that day to remind you just how important you are in their lifes.
I consider that the friendship it's the greatest thing ever, in my case I love my friends and there's no simple thing I wouldn't do for them.
I also think that my friends are my family and I would give my life for them, the friendship that I have with them is really close and we are always no matter what, giving us support when we need anything, if any one of us has problems or it's sad, we are always there like letting us know we will always be together and its like: "hey we are together, we are going to be ok, just remember i'm here for you..".
